2012 is becoming an incredible year for SHPE Indiana. We continue to grow fast with the help of our sponsors, volunteers and our partners. We recently were awarded scholarship grant money from Rolls Royce and Eli Lilly to continue supporting Hispanic students in their dream to become the future engineers.  We continue to look for sponsors that can help us financially to achieve our SHPE Indiana's mission:

"to serve as role models, foster education among the growing Hispanic population and be the source of quality Hispanic professionals in Indiana"

We have partnered in recent months with the Indianapolis Mexican Consulate and jointly visited several Indiana schools to talk to middle school students about engineering through a series of presentations and workshops. Some of the events that we have also hosted include engineering week and the bilingual engineering programs. In addition, we have held the the science and engineering workshops at the META events.

We may be new and our mission has only just begun in Indiana.  With a Hispanic high school graduation rate of 59% and college acceptance rate of less than 2% our road is long.  With your financial help we will continue to recruit more Hispanic professionals, reach more University students and talk to more young Hispanic kids.
